Danie I dont think there is a point arguing with Comrade Nathan.... I really do feel he is a dying dinosaur... It would be interesting though what comrade Nathan thought about Stalins alliance with the Nazi's early in the war... or the stalinists in Germany who would not form a coalition with the social democrats to prevent Hitler winning the election because the social democrats where .. social fascists of course. Or the betrayal of the Spanish revolution by the Stalinists. I think the conception of Stalin as Fascists has some but not all truth to it. The only reason why someone would seek permanent compromise with Imperialism would be because they are in fact .. imperialism, or a deranged form of state capitalism...? So what do you have to say also about the elimination of Trotsky from history by airbrush... you are really screwed up in your defence of Stalin... the Green Utopian Socialist is right about left unity and im open to ideas and concede that there were elements of good in Russia that remained but it is widely known that Stalinism should be quashed. Your rhetoric and that of the CP sems more keen to bash the left rather than unite the left and win people over.

you make some good points and seem to have a good knowledge of the complexity of it all but the bold bit really does make you look like a fuckhead. stalin was not fascist, hell even franco wasn't fascist. authoritarian and cults of personality are the extent of the parallels between stalin and mussolini, to argue otherwise is to demonstrate nothing but your ignorance
