changing civil specialisation 1 or so year in? (1 Viewer)

I'm going to most likely do civil structural at syd uni

But if after the first or so year, I decide that I don't want to specialise in structural but in something else, is it possible for me to change?

If not then I'd do flexible but it seems a bit of a waste of time seeing as I know I'm going to do civil but just not 100% sure on the specialisation yet.

You start your civil spec electives in 2nd year so you can change until then (and even after if you dont mind overloading a semester) as long as you had the uai when you enrolled or your WAM is > 65%

Better to just do the general stream and pick relevant electives. The specialisations are pretty silly imo.

why would you want to specialise do straight civil

and Civil at usyd is shit, still in the 80s

Civil at usyd meets all requirements of Engineers Australia.

EA reqirements is to have the following

- a Thisis project
- 12 weeks work exp
- 2 steams of subjects where 3 pre-reqs are required

Info on changing streams - http://www.civil.usyd.edu.au/current/undergraduate/enrolment.shtml (2/3 down page).

Specialisation for civil streams starts in 3rd year, so you have plenty of time to decide.
