Hey BOS!

I need help with this question about carbonation of soft drinks. Could someone please point me in the right direction? I don't understand this at all.

"Assess the accuracy of this statement '3 litres of carbon dioxide is dissolved in each litre of drink. This is equivalent to about 6 grams of carbon dioxide per litre of drink' "

It also asks for some sort of calculation.

Can someone please help me?

P.S. I think this is not part of HSC syllabus. My teacher gave it to me as extension work for Chemistry.

Thankyou! :)

Carbon dioxide is a gas, so one mole of CO2 would take up 24.79L (assuming SLC). So figure out how many moles have been dissolved and use molecular weights.

And I think this could be asked in a HSC exam. All the skills needed to figure this out are taught in year 11/12 chemistry.
