Right so I've got some subject picking problems!
Just like if anyone cares to advise from experience or assertion in addition to what I have been given already.
So subjects having problems with are choosing between MODERN HISTORY AND CHEMISTRY due to school lines and also the fact that I'm able and pretty good at both humanities and sciences.

FOR PRELIM:
Advanced English
English Extension I
Mathematics
Physics
Economics
Chemistry
Ancient History

FOR hsc
Advanced English
English Extension I
English Extension II
Mathematics
Chemistry
Economics
Ancient History

OR: and here's the the other option

PRELIM:
Advanced English
English Extension I
Mathematics
Physics
Economics
Modern History
Ancient History

then for HSC
Advanced English
English Extension I
English Extension II
Mathematics
Physics
Economics
Modern History

So it's basically; modern history or chemistry?

What one do you enjoy more? What are you planning on doing after school? Choose the one you like better and might benefit you more after school.

Do the one you like more and it's best to go into year 11 with an open mind to all subjects. The subject you may think you will definitely drop you may enjoy or do well at. :)

First option you're dropping Physics... then Ancient? Don't assume what subjects you're going to drop by the end of the year. Your opinion will change greatly over year 11. Choose the subject you're most interested in.

Priority for choosing:
1. What you like better.
2. If equal for above, what you're better at.
3. If equal for above, what scales better perhaps?

I'd probably go with something like this:

If you need a high ATAR

1. What you're best at.
2. What you like better.
= 3. What you need for uni (emphasis on need)
= 3. What scales better

If you dont really need a high ATAR

1. What you like better.
2. What you're best at.
3. What you need for uni (emphasis on need)
4. What scales better
