I've missed out on a few readings here and there and was wondering if I'll need to read them for the final exams or not?

Cheers

Ask your lecturer because they would be the one setting the exam/question.

I guess it depends, I only really do one subject that has weekly readings. For the final exam, we are given 12 questions before hand (1 from every weekly reading), only 3 will be in the exam. The catch is that we wont know which 3, hence pretty much have to learn each one.

It differs from subject to subject, but in all of my past subjects, the course outline has specifically stated that "all lectures, tutorials, readings and excercises are examinable"

it should tell you in the course outline, but you can definitely get specific readings in the exam. if you do, it won't require you to know all the readings really well, but you'll need to have done all the readings and know different views etc

I think the weekly reading is related to do with your lectures and tutorials materials
if you have a general understanding and enjoy the subject you are doing you should be fine
