ok so i get that for the purpose of the school based assesment mark the rank within the school is all that matters. but suppose that you defeat all expectations and defy the odds

say you are ranked 150/200 for some subject but in the HSC you managed to rank within your school at say 20th. will the board of studies exclude the school assesment mark and only count the HSC mark?

Q is, which one is the outlier??? lol purely from a statistical point of view u cant judge that cause there are 2 results....

andswer is NO they NEVER disregard one mark or another, 150 people beat u in internal assessments, and so those 150 people WILL GET A HIGHER INTERNAL MARK THAN YOU, as to wat u get in the external exam...sky's the limit, see its only fair this way , cause those 150 ppl did the same assessments as u and came out on top....

How is it contradictory? One-hit-wonderING refers to doing extremely well in externals in contrast of your internals. The impact of that one-hit-wonderING is limited to the externals section only. Thus the person's internal marks will not be ignored and opted for the high external mark (the question asked).
