im doing a portfolio for make up artistry
and one of the modules is asian make up
(ive got this really pretty asian chick from my school which im doing + she is gonna look SEKSI!)

anyway
for the portfolio i need pictures of asian make up
(asian girls wearing make up)

i havent been able to find many on the net! nor from books/magazines
ive noticed a few peeps on here with asians in there signatures n so forth
i was wondering if any1 would be able to send me some pics/photos/websites of asians wearing make up ! (yes most asians like it minimal, but pics of where you can actually see make up proper!)

umm there's a really good book called 'bobbi brown's guide to teenage makeup and beauty' or something, and there's a whole section on makeup for asian girls

Yes, the Bobbi Brown book as a great section on asian make up and certainly includes some closeup make-up shots. Vogue recently had a section on asian makeup, it was well recieved. They only had one photo though, but had excellent tips. But definetly check chinese mags, they've got heaps of asian girls, but not much detailing on the make-up. Terribly air-brushed. I'm asian (obviously) and needed heaps of asian make-up advice for my formal, so looked around a bit, its quite hard getting photos, but tips from good make-up artists are great. I usually stick to a little bit of concealer (asians don't need that much foundation), eyeliner, definetly mascara (use an eyelash curler), and gloss. I do a casual modelling and make-up artists always insist minimum is best for asian makeup.

asians have a different eye compared to western eyes..
eg. they dont have a socket, of if they do its not as defined
the design of colour appreciation and ways to accentuate features are slightly different also!

and asian designs are funky when colour is used (although not many of them like colour!)

Oh massive sexy bump.

I've found that if you use a light coloured eye-liner (white or silver) for the bottom of your eyes and some black liner for the top, your eyes can look quite bigger.

I totally do this.

And go nuts on lengthening/curling mascara.

i do the white eyeliner thingy sometimes too!
