wat r the locals like?

in regards to the best nightclubs in byron, well there aren't many nightclubs at all so that makes it a little easier lol - lalaland is very popular and its pretty good, cocomangos is known to be a little lame but its in a convenient spot right in the main part of town, cheekymonkeys always has lots of people but it is known as the sleezy club, there is another but i cant remember the name lol and then the byron bay hotel is very popular - its right opposite the main beach, there's live music sometimes, lots of people and its really nice.

byron bay is very small, so other than going to nighclubs, just walknig around town at night is fun in itself because there are lots of people, live music and stuff and a lot of people go to the beach at night too, sometimes there are performances going on there as well. during the day its the same, people spend the day at the beach, shopping or just around town. nimbin and other cool towns aren't far so alot of people take day trips out there too, and there are other beaches of byron a bit away from the main part which people go to as well. walking up to the lighthouse is also really popular for people going to byron for their first time and other cool places are nearby too like suffolk park and even surfers isnt too far.

i have never heard of eureka so i cannot tell u how far away that is! lol sorry
but yes, like all places, prices will probably be a lot higher while schoolies is on. i can almost guarentee that clubs will be moer expensive and its a safe bet that local stores will be too. we get the local byron newspaper delviered to our house and there was an article saying that they are going to be even tighter than usual this yr with udnerage people and alcohol.

about eastern suburbs schools - well i go to an "eastern suburbs" school lol and basically the eastern suburbs is just an area in sydney (close to the city and the water) and most people from the schools around here tend to go to byron bay - almost everyone i know from around here is going!
i hope this helps! let me know if u have any more questions

Re: Byron Info!

I have lived in Byron since I was born, as with my whole family. I'm also spending schoolies here because I live pretty much in town and well you know... It is cheaper.

wat good r the best nightclub/ n things 2 do in the day and night up there.

Clubs:
LaLa Land: Packed, generally good ratio, prepare to line up if you don't get stamped early. Music is general club music, out of all the clubs I am there the most.

Cocos: In the one month I have been 18 I have been here once... It wasn't that great.

Cheekys: Never been there, friends of mine (older friends) say it is mostly tourists and stuff, might head there this week sometime when I go on a crawl around town. Rhehehe.

Pubs:-
Beachy: The Beach Hotel. Best pub in Byron in my opinion, expansive usually, probably more so during holiday season as you would guess. Live music on weekends generally.
Northo: Havn't been yet, from what I am told it is nothing special. Has the backroom that has good acts every now and again.
Rails: More of a locals pub, live acts sometimes.

Ummm... To do in the day.. Well you can walk around town.. But that won't take that long to get boring. There is the beach, which you can spend hours at doing jack all. BUT the BEST thing to do in the day IMO... Sleep. Rhehe, though irl I just generally spend my days doing PC stuff or reading or something like that. Or hanging out with friends at my house or vice versa :p

wat r the locals like?
Mostly just as cruisy as you would guess. Though there is groups of kids (our age and younger, even a few years older) that seem to look to get into fights with tourists, especially rowdy disrespecting tourists. They hang in packs and you can tell who they are.. Just leave them alone I guess, they pretty much don't exist in pubs and clubs due to them being young and the such. Chances you won't even see them as there will be so many people around. They fail at life.

do local business jack up the prices of like food n alchohol cause its skoolies season?Yes

how far is eureka from byron? From my knowledge.. Far. A hour or two? drive, maybe more.

This next couple of weeks should be fun, then again, every week I have fun rhehehe.

Re: Byron Info!

I went to Schoolies at Byron a couple of years ago (i was 18 tho), there wasnt anything for underages to do except hang out on the beach and around town..(we only had one underage girl so i felt sorry for her) Heaps of security checking ID at the beach hotel. - But it was the best imo.

Mind you, the beach is cool at night at Byron, half the time we didnt bother hitting the clubs just head down to the beach - SO many tourists from all over the world, Street performers and it was just fun to meet all different groups of people. and other schoolies haha.

We went to Cheeky Monkeys a few times but i agree it was pretty sleazy - older men trying to feel us up and stuff. BUt the dancing on tables was cool. There was this club accross the street i think from Cheekys.. everytime we tried to get in there we got sick of waiting in line..

During the day - SLEEEP, EAT, BEACH, SHOPPING. We spent our afternoons making cocktails in old juice bottles which we take down to the beach later that evening. We hit up coles.. at least 5 times that week - If you see a guy named 'giles' working there he was our cashier, deliberately went to him everytime haha! And we also made daily trips to Subway @ very odd hours of the night.

Hope this helps..

Yeah a friend of mine entered the tabletop dancing competition and had her dress taken off her by one of the other dancers. Then she won 50 dollars. Awesome.

And as for Byron, get some shrooms and walk along the beach at night. Hawww sweet..

but don't do drugs kids

Re: Byron Bay 2008: Best dates for schoolies

dont listen to this chump^

byron was heaps of fun. here was my typical day in byron:

12pm-3pm: wake up from night before. have breakfast of beer and/or pizza
3pm-5pm: sunbake/swim in pool/drink/generally have a great time with your mates
5pm-7pm: power/nanna nap
7pm-7:30pm: wake up, shower, get dressed, decide what you were doing. continue drinking/doing drugs (whichever your fancy).
8pm: pile into a maxi taxi, drink into town, bail on the poor cunt in the back so he has to pay the fare
8pm: hit the dancefloor at CHEEKY MONKEYS (easily the best spot in byron, you have to go there. you will know what i mean once you are there)
2-4am: somehow get back to your apartments, have a nightcap or 4, watch porn, pull cones, etc etc.

wake up and do it all again.

rofl good luck champ

i saw the best, lasered fakies ever to come out of the shire get picked in about half a second by every bouncer up there. you are best off trying to find a look alike and memorising the details, but even they fail most bouncers and are no good when you are pissed.
