Hey, guys just want some advice on this.

I been waiting for the Asus Transformer Infinity for a while now but Asus decided to delay launch by a month and add $100 to price...so now it's $1000 -_-
Also we don't get the 32Gig variant here, and I don't really need 64Gigs

So I'm thinking of buying one from US or UK, which is much cheaper there. But I'm just wondering if I do that, it will work perfectly in Australia right? Like wifi and stuff, since it doesn't have a carrier or anything.

And if anyone has a good and trustworthy UK/US online store they can recommend that'd be great :D

Thanks

Assuming you can get over the power issue (most modern devices accept 110v-240v anyway so all you'll need is a plug in this case- but best to check!) then it should be fine. Only issues arise is when using some kind of mobile data (i.e. 3g) then you need to double check it will be compatible. There's also the obvious risks with importing yourself in terms of warranties, etc.

I would think that power won't be an issue between US and Australia.

As said you need a converter/plug thingy.

I would think that power won't be an issue between US and Australia.
In laymans terms there are TWO issues;
1. Different voltage (110v vs. 240v)
2. Different plugs (i.e. different prongs)

The voltage point is largely a non-issue in most electronics since they usually include a dual voltage power plug however you will need to check this yourself. If it doesn't support it and there's no other way to charge whatever device you're interested in, then it could be costly. Alternatively some devices can be charged via USB.

On top of this you'll need to have an adaptor or converter to ensure the plug fits into the Aussie power plug. This isn't very expensive (<$10) so don't worry too much.

Yeah I think I know a place that I can get a converter from.

So if the device comes supports 240V then there should be no problem? I'm sure the transformer can be charged with USB though.
