just checked the question, should definitely be D because A doesn’t actually increase assets
Also, D offers a discount. Therefore it reduces receivables ( a current asset) whilst only increasing cash by the discounted amount. This reduces current assets and therefore worsens current ratio

A increases cash which is a current asset therefore bettering the current ratio

because business is easy and also I did it in prelims
imo business is actually free atar. i actually think it scales too well, cause people dont put enought effort into the subject cause its easy, so it appears slightly harder than it is when they do the scaling.
i have a friend thats on track for 99.5+ and is on track for around 89-91 in chem. ik for a fact if he did business he would have state ranked and gotten 98-100. like what im saying is that it less effort to do well atar contribution wise in business, rather than a science.
idk scaling is meant to be fair, but i feel it isnt. like imo i also think 3u and 4u math scale too well. but maybe im bias and its different for everyone

Scaling for 3u and 4u maths aint even that great for what the subject is

It cant be D cause it doesnt increase current assets at all, as receivables is already a current asset
so its A
I said D in the exam, but its not D. Discounts for early payment is a strategy for cash flow and improves accounts receivable turnover ratio which is efficiency and not liquidity (current ratio is for liquidity). Therefore, it must be A as EXCESS machinery is not a good use of assets, and so selling these would IMPROVE the current ratio of the business.

I was looking into a scaling statistics while making my calculator and mx2 scales a fair bit better than what it really should

if you go to table A3, the 99th %ile scaled mark for English advanced was 46.5. this implies that around 246 students received a scaled mark above 46.5 from English Advanced (and a negligible amount achieved the same from standard and EAL/D)

now, if you go to mx2 there isn’t an exact percentile for 46.5 but we do know that a scaled mark of 47.4 (which is a fair bit higher) corresponds to the 75th percentile, which implies that 818 students received a scaled mark above 47.4, and likely over a thousand received a mark above 46.5.

im pretty sure this is just a side effect of the way UAC conducts the scaling - rather than being directly based on English, mx2 is scaled based on the performance of the mx2 cohort in mx1, and then likewise for mx1 in advanced, and so as a result the scaled marks get quite inflated since the difference in performance is presumably quite large in each case - it is nonetheless interesting
