Haha, Troung Troung brings back memories. His lectures get cut down to a quarter of their original size in 4 weeks, tops.

Bald dude? That'd be Trevor Stegman and his pulsating veins on his head. He's awesome.

If not, I wouldn't have a clue who he is.

I'm a bored first year at UNSW doing B Comm :(

The problem is that I did Economics, Business Studies, and Extension 2 Maths in Year 12.

So I already know everything they've told us in ACCT1501, ECON1101, ECON1202, and FINS1612. Totally boring!

My lecturers .. Kathleen Walsh (I think Kathleen?) for Finance; Claudia Gormley (spelling?) for Accounting; something Conlon for Micro (does this guy EVER show emotion?!); and Louis Yeung for QMA. He's the coolest of the lot.

But just a sidenote to anyone who has Yeung for QMA .. in his lecture, he told everyone that x = root(y) is not a function. Or perhaps it was y = root(x).

Either way, both ARE functions. His mistake was that he assumed a root can have both positive and negative results, which is NOT TRUE. The root of 9 is NOT +/- 3, but merely positive 3 only.

It was explained by Raginsheep (Falcon Pride, dude :p) just above.

But if you didn't understand that, in literary terms, it basically works like this:

The square root of the square of either a positive or negative number is ONLY positive.

If you don't believe that, then download WinPlot and draw the graph. You'll see.

And if you don't understand, then you just have to believe :)

Haha, I can probably come back and tell you in one week that everything is new again. It's just this first week gone by that was boring.

Isn't university oarsum, though?
