Yea i think ikeas your best bet. If not then officeworks might have some for cheap, but i'm not sure how good they are.

Try Target or even Kmart, Big W, Go-Lo or The Reject Shop, ALDI, it really depends on what size you want, I think you'd mostly find smaller ones in these shops, but they would have good prices and not dodgy in the sense that they'd collapse on you. If your price range is higher, I agree with trying out Officeworks or a shop that specialises in wood furniture.

go to a pine shop or something like that or build your own, it is not that hard, or add shelves to your wall.

Don't get a crappy plastic or veneer bookshelves - they will collapse/chip/break within a few years. Don't go to Officeworks either or any of the chains as the same thing will happen.

I'd recommend going to a few wood furniture stores. I got a fabulous wooden bookshelf from one in Crows Nest for a couple hundred dollars and it's very sturdy. Plus some will also let you custom build for around the same price. It's worth the price for the quality IMO.

Yeah, girl power!

A really good oak or mahogany shelf from an independent furniture is the way to go and make sure you get a really big one because they'll last you a good 20 - 30 years if you take good care of it. :)
