I'm confused...as in my trial apparently they had to take out black body radiation as it isn't part of the course anymore...this isn't true...is it?

The idea of black bodies is still in. As is the curves and quanta explaination.

The calculations using weins law are out. I will write full details up in a minute.

I think that it was mainly in the prelim course .... but it still in there abit when refering to different parts of the syllabus. Its used in the astro physics option. I did ask my teacher today and he said yes.

The photo electric effect is still in there. Its a major part of Ideas to Impl

You no longer have to the photoelectric prac. That is the only major bit of I2I in that section that was changed.

Also don't need to know applications of oscillating electric charges.

Nothing was changed during the year.
All changes were made in Oct last year. Your teacher should have been teaching to the new syllabus, and your copy should have all the changes.

If you haven't got a 2003 syllabus, look at
http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/syllabus2000_listp.html#physics

Sections 1, 3 and 4 had more changes than section 2. If your syllabus said you had to do the photoelectric prac then you have the old syllabus, that has had about 20% cut ou.
