Can someone please help me, my question is:

Write a balanced formula equation for the reaction between vinegar and washing soda.

So far ive got:
Vinegar = CH<SUB>3</SUB>COOH(aq)
Washing soda = Na2CO3 .10(H2O)

Am i correct in saying this? What would my next step be?

Okay

for washing soda, get rid of the '.10(H20)' ok

and you should be able to write a balanced equation now, seeing as it will be a neutralisation reaction, with a carbonate, so products will be salt + water + CO2

ill start you off youll need twice as many CH3COOH's as Na2CO3

Thanks alot!

So now im going to get something like:

2CH3COOH + Na2CO3 --> 2CH3COONa + H2O + CO2

That seems to balance, thanks heaps for the help :)
