I am interested in this new course. Can someone give me an estimate on what the entry figures might be? Also, is there any info on the course structure or unit outlines? Thanks

it's likely to have a similar cutoff to that of Arts.

It should be noted the socio-legal course is not offered by the Law faculty itself and much of it is like an Arts degree.

I'm interested about the structure of this course

the 4 senior units that are "related to socio-legal studies" - what are they? Can they be things like modern/ancient history?

Here's the handbook entry. The related units are:
* SCLG2605 Social Justice, Law and Society
* SCLG2608 Social Construction of Difference
* SCLG2618 Violence, Imaginaries and Symbolic Power
* SCLG2621 Power, Politics and Society
* ASLT2617 Writing and Justice
* HSTY2652 Genocide in Historical Perspective
* PHIL2607 Indigenous Rights
* PHIL2635 Contemporary Political Philosophy
* PHIL2617 Practical Ethics
* WORK2207 Labour Law
* WORK2219 Management and Organisational Ethics
* GOVT2665 Ethics and Politics
* GOVT2111 Human Rights and Australian Politics
* GOVT2336 Gender and Human Rights
* ECOP3017 Political Economy of Human Rights

So there's not much history in there. However, your second major in the degree can be anything within the arts faculty, so it could be history or ancient history or whatever else.

Socio-legal studies is boring. Stay far far away. Deidrie Howard-wager is probably the worst lecturer I have ever had. She also happens to be my tutor. I want to stab myself.

Dearest Deidrie reassures us and tells us next semester will be better. Truth be told, I sort of just noticed even SHE is bored with what she's teaching.

It must be some pretty mind numbing shit really.

Could students doing the Socio-Legal Studies course provide some of the positives and negatives of the course.

Could someone also clarify the job prospects for this degree too? Am deciding whether or not to keep this course as a preference atm
