Hey guys. I was wondering whether I can still be an accredited CPA accountant if I were to do B. Economics in University of Sydney, as I missed the cut-off for B. Comm there. Do I have to take more papers when I'm doing the CPA exams? Thanx.

Another thing. Very odd. I have this phamplet (and my UAC guide also says this) that states if I were to do B. Econ in UNSW, I would still be eligible to sit for the CPA. However, when I went to CPA's website which tells us which degrees are accredited by it at http://www.cpacareers.com.au/study_options/acc_course_search.asp?SearchType=

UNSW's B. Econ did not show up. What the??? Info anyone? (Dateline tomorrow!)

OK, so with B. Econ from Sydney Uni, do I have to take more papers when doing the CPA, or are the amount of papers to be taken the same as for someone who's doing a B. Comm (Accounting) degree?

Conversion course as in a postgraduate degree related to accounting since economics has nothing to do with accounting and CPA is a accounting accredition.

u must do a conversion course to be eligible to even do CPA.
You sure about this? Because when I called up Sydney Uni and asked them about this, and they said that as long as you major in Accounting, you are eligible to do the CPA. Plus, when I went to CPA's website to check which degrees are acredited at http://www.cpacareers.com.au/study_options/acc_course_search.asp?SearchType=
B. Econ from Sydney Uni is listed as accredited.
