Hey guys, I've continuously gotten marks between 90-100 all year, and ranked first in three of my four subjects at school (see rankings in signature), however I did not perform as well in my external exams - I'm thinking about high 70s to 80s. How much of an affect is this going to have on my HSC results and ATAR? Thank you!

Your internal marks are not determined from your school marks, they're determined from your position in the cohort and the external performance of the cohort. Because you're first you'll receive the highest external mark of your cohort as your internal assessment mark (it doesn't matter if it is you who has the highest external mark or someone else in your cohort).

If you personally got the highest mark of the cohort, lets say 82 in for legal studies. Your internal mark would also become 82. This would then make both your internal & external mark 82, resulting in your hsc mark of 82.
