lol at the guy who got beaten by Tomic.

His openent, a 27 year old, got beaten by the youngest player in the tournament, the youngest to win the junior aussie open, it was the first time tomic played a match longer than 3 sets, AND it was his first senior grand slam match.

LOL

Right, so who's going to win? Gonzalez or Hewitt?

I reckon Gonzalez at the rate Hewitt's playing. If Hewitt picks it up and the match goes to 5 sets, I reckon Hewitt.

Djokovic easily in the mens.
Lol, I cant see this happening. He is doing quite poorly form wise. Losing to nieminen wasnt quite what you would expect.

And for those backing federer and williams, have some imagination!!! backing favourites is no fun. tbh i hope fed and serena lose thier next matches so the tournament is less predictable and therefore more entertaining

I think murray and safina will go far this year.

At this rate, Hewitt's trying to go pound for pound with Gonzalez's forehand. I think he might lose first round.

Gonzalez is currently playing like he did in the Aus Open in 2007.... pretty unlucky draw for Hewitt.

Hmm, not so sure now. Gonzalez has lost some momentum and Hewitt's coming back...

Hmm, I really thought Hewitt would have won that last set. Oh well. Such a shame it could be Hewitt's last Aus Open as well.

Agreed, he started quite well, coming off the high of winning the 4th one. Shame really.

That was heartbreaking. I can't believe what Lleyton did at 2-4 30-40, hits an approach shot to Gonazles' forehand! He would have won the point if he went to the backhand!

My winner wishlist
ATP - Federer/Djokovic
WTA - Ana Ivanovic

Roger was great last night!

That Tomic boy is freaky.... he's only 16..
apparently he's Croatian born in Germany whose family migrated to Australia when he was three.

Haha, well Tomic is a Croatian name, and there are plenty of Croatians in Germany, so it's not too farfetched. :) That and he's freaking tall, like most Croatians.
