If what someone says offends you, don't listen, but if they push it on you then they can enjoy jail time.

This is quite interesting though, I've heard quite a bit in recent times about Holocaust deniers getting arrested, it seems pretty obvious from like every record I've seen relating to it that it happened, what's the whole idea?

Im all for freedom of speech as long as it isnt racist or incite violence. In Australia I can be prosecuted for inciting violence against Muslims or another ethnic group. There have been a few Imams in the UK that have been jailed for racist and inflamatory sermons.

I think Iron summed some things up very well. Theres a saying about history, one who doesnt learn history is doomed to repeat it (something like that). If people are taught the holocaust never happened, then it will happen again.

Similar events have occured since WW2 (massacres in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and now in Sudan) but our awareness of the holocaust makes us more committed to stop it and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

I always thought you could be gaoled/jailed for denying the holocaust if you spoke in Germany or Austria?

No but seriously, hearing the other side of the coin, true or not (having never seen the evidence I can't comment!), isn't going to cause another holocaust. That's just silly. The reason why this has happened in those countries is because they were run by bloodthirsty savages, raised by bloodthirsty savages. Allowing the other point of view in developed countries isn't going to cause anyone to stoop to that level around here, or Europe.

I feel this man shouldn't be jailed for his beliefs. If we are jailing him on his beliefs, that would set new precedent for all the Jihad Extremists who are all talk and no action, their beliefs are highly offensive: 'Kill every Westerner on the face of the planet!'

Spreading hatred to kill and denying the holocaust are very similar things, but we can't jail any muslims who aren't actually involved in the killings because they are only spreading ideas. Double standards?
