Aussie extradited to the US without ever steping foot there (1 Viewer)

Australian Hew Griffiths has been extradited to the USA for charges relating to software copyright infringements. Former justice minister Chris Ellison allowed this to happen despite the fact he hadn't even been to America before. He was part of a computer pirate group called drink or die and similiar charges to people from this group in the UK was handed soley in Britian.

This challenges the whole idea of soverignty and Australias justice system. This is so wrong on so many levels.

Challenges sovereignty of Australia? Do you know what Sovereignty means?

Its not like US sent troops or agents and forcibly abducted him, that would be a challenge to sovereignty.

It will be good if US reciprocate by extraditing Doctor Death and other aussie crooks hiding in US.

Soverignty - a self governing state. Where a government operates without the influence or pressure or another in the excutive, leglislation and judicial powers.

This guy is liable for a 10 year sentence and US$500,000 fine, which is more than the average sentence of a rape charge in Victoria. I hardly see how that is fair for an Australian citizen who comitted a crime in Australia.
