yeh im currently doing an audio engineering course at nirimba tafe ,
music: technical production.
its a pretty easy course but can get quite boring, ..fast.
it wasnt exactly what i expected, you do get sometime in the studio,
but most of the time you learn how to roll up cables the right way
( i didn't know there was a wrong way!),
plugging DAT machines in, and a whole shitload of OH&S..
But, if you wanna get into this industry you gotta start somewhere,
after you finish cert.1 , you can continue to higher,
more advanced courses.
(i.e. not rolling cables!)

Hey

I'm currently a student at SAE Byron Bay, personally everything we've done at the college so far has been really cool. The second year is abit more academic that the Diploma but i guess thats what you can expect with any degree level studies.
The first year is really hands on, loads of pracs etc
Did you check out their website yet? http://www.saebyronbay.com

If you want to chat about the college just give me a shout, i'm on most messengers so just PM me with your addy and we can chat

cheers

thanks guys for your comments - im guessing you are dissapointed current students, im not going there.
ive applied for B contemporary music majoring in production, and hopefully will get in, its a more conservatorium style course, seems great, and there is no overly flashy gear to try and entice you, whil they still have the gear to get the job done. if one of you current students at sae could pm me, that would be great, so i can confirm my suspicions leading me away, far away, from sae. heard to much bad stuff.
