In general, which do you / would you prefer, and why?

Just want a general opinion on both cars, I like both :)

Usuallly I would say Audi, but out of those two models I think the BMW looks better (which is what I based my vote on).

BMW 7 Series- I like the look, the features, and the fact that it's far more distinctly different from the other models within the lineup compared to the relationship between Audi models.

Tough choice, although If I could pick either one I'd probably go towards the BMW 7 series. It's just that much bolder than the Audi in my opinion. That being said, the Audi has an amazing interior but the exterior just doesn't cut it when it's being compared to the BMW.

Overall though I prefer the S Class in this category. It may not have the technical gadgetry which the 7 series has in terms of features list, but nothing screams "BOSS" like the Big Benz.

After driving both, I'd say the BMW 7 series. The A8 isn't so different to the A3, A4, A5, A6. The difference between the lower BMWs and the 7 series is far more noticeable. Mercedes S500 trumps them both though.

Would it be fair to say the BMW 760Li is a lot cooler and trendier, and probably more of a driver's car (note: I haven't driven the current F01 gen 7 series but I did drive both the E38 and E65), but the S500 is still THE car.

I'm not a fan of Mercedes that much, is the S500 a lot better than both of these?

Depends what you want in the car. If you're more of a 'driving enthusiast' then the 7 series no doubt will be more dynamic and involving to drive (although if you were really a driving enthusiast and not just being chauffeured around, then I'd probably go for a grand tourer like the new 6 series or the CL), but in this 'class' of car, I'd prefer the S500. It really makes you feel special whereas the 7 series and A8 make you feel like you're seeing into the future of cars.

M1 and M3 are both very different cars. At the end of the day a 7 series or A8 is a car to be driven in, or to comfortably cruise on highways (or in traffic).

Guess the 7 series takes the lead.
