Hey guys,

school rank is mid-60's although I think this year is far better than last.

Here are an estimate of overall ranks + trial results:

English Advanced: top10 / 120something 77%
English Extension: top10 / 30something 74%
Mathematics: top15 / 60something 80%
Mathematics extension: top15 / 30something 65%
Ancient History: top5 / 60something 81%
Music 1: 1st or possible 2nd out of maybe 12 students 94%

Did physics last year and got 83 :(

I would be surprised if I get anything lower than 95 for music 1.

Obviously I'm pretty sure all of these marks will be better for the HSC exam.
So estimates? The course I want is 95.85 - and I'm a bit worried.

Thanks in advance

Really? I think he'll get 90.40. His marks aren't brilliant you know, not sure how you guys are getting mid-90s.

Improve on your English and Maths and you should be able to get 95.85. What course is it? Just out of interest.

Thats because you're looking at his trial marks and aligning those up, which is wrong, look at his ranks and think relative to that.

Lets say he got for adv eng:60/120 and his trial mark 60%, doesn't mean he would get 70 in hsc, more like 80+. Because hes average at an ABOVE AVERAGE SCHOOL IN THE STATE, hence he would easily be above the 50th percentile, hence band5+.

I'm yet to see anyone claim their grade is worse than the previous.

Mid-90s, I'd say maybe higher but your marks aren't stratospheric

thanks for the responses guys. For the record, my trials were not what I'm capable of, and I'm pretty sure I can do much better. My assessment average is higher than all of those results.

So what marks would I need to be getting to get that ~96... I think I can do it, I am always comparing myself to my brother who went through the same school, got 96.1 and I'm beating his marks in every subject. (We do the same subjects for some reason).

music/law for those interested. Although for personal reasons I also want to beat my brother. The other sibling got 99.7 haha, out of my league to even compete with...

No one's going to estimate for you if you hijack someone else's thread and then ignore someone who's trying to help you! We can't tell without a school rank. although I'd guess 60 - based on pretty much nothing

I'll do it...after all, she only wants an idea.

I predict, and I kid you not: 57.50. Improve your maths dramatically, to rank about... say 50/120, you should get 65. Also, I would've suggested taking a singular science instead of Senior Science, like Chemistry or Physics.
