Alright, due to the incompetence of my teachers, no ranks have been given out just yet from our first assessment.
We are about to start out half-yearly examinations and I just needed some help.

I am doing these subjects;

- English Advanced
- Studies of Religion (II)
- Mathematics
- Maths Extension (I)
- Community and Family Studies
- Chemistry
- Biology

My school is ranked about 110-120 (not exactly sure)

What ranks do I need for internal marks and what marks do I need for the HSC to acheive at ATAR of 98?
I just need some estimation of the ranks and marks I need to acheive to get an ATAR of 98 :)

Thankyou so much everyone! Truly appreciated!

marks don't really matter.. but obviously to get 98 you SHOULD be achieving highly and should be very confident leading into the HSC exams.

in terms of ranks, i'd aim for top 3. My school finished 150ish last year, and I required top 3 ranks in all my subjects to attain an atar of 98.75 and that was doing quite "high-scaling/aligning subjects". Your subjects don't seem to be as high scaling so I'd definitely aim for top 3 in everything.

You would need to be in the top 1-2 in each subject. Also, I would recommend dropping CAFS unless you come first in the state (or near the top), it will not give good results.

Maximum HSC Mark: 50.0
Maximum Scaled Mark: 43.8

So in theory, if you got 100 in CAFS, it MIGHT just count but otherwise, don't count on it.
