Well I think inappropriate in terms of the syllabus requirements set - ie. certain components of the syllabus have a minimum/maximum OVERALL weighting for internal assessment. Something to do with that I think.
But, also.. if the school sets a research assignment at 50% weighting or something.. then that would be looked into perhaps.

I was thinking about that. Somehow, I doubt it...perhaps you will just see the change in your rank order if you happen to check it again.

I heard about something similar at my school, in 2 unit religion two people tied first the marks difference was marginal ie >1.0, so they both recieve medals but the teachers felt it was best to seperate them when entering them into the BOS as 1 and 2 to give them the best chance of getting a better mark

In 17 years of teaching HSC I have never seen marks sent in to 2 decimal places and have regularly sent in equal places (including last year with equal firsts).

i was too scared to ask my teachers what my rank was but i ended up being quite pleased... 3u math 3rd/24 and 4u math 2nd/5.

I'm pretty sure teachers are allowed to reveal them to us. Just not that marks I believe.

yea i talked to my teacher and no joke

difference between us who tied on 1st

BUT...

there were 3 tied on 4th
and now theirs says
1- 4th
and 2 5ths
so you can still have equal placings


but a difference of 0.01 wont make that much of a difference will it???
