My area of study: Belonging. The text i have is "Swallow The Air" by Tara June Winch. Will i need to know a great deal of the text for the HSC? And when they say 'related texts' does it refer to the text or the concept e.g. To Billy Elliot? or Into The World? I feel really stupid asking these questions but I am doing my course via correspondence and have had no luck with replies from my teacher.

Related in the sense that they talk about belonging - whether that be belonging, or not belonging. If that is your core text, then you will need to know about it in detail. You will also need to know your related texts (aim for two) in great detail as well.

I would advise against doing Billy Elliot - I'm pretty sure it was former HSC.
