18-$11.51

Part Time
17- $7.82
18- $9.60

Grace Bros

Casuals
17- $9.68
18- $11.30

Part Time
17- $8.07
18- $9.41

Marginally better than Woolies, Big W, Franklins, Target, Maccas, Pizza hut, Dominos etc

BUt not as good as that Stadium place and World For Kids and really specialised places and proper jobs.

KMart
Casuals
17- $8.93
18- $10.96

Part Time
17- $7.45
18- $9.14

About 3 cents above minimum wage.

There's minimum wage details and conditions of employment http://www.dir.nsw.gov.au/

Rates are current ones and if you're gonna get a job for the summer holidays, they might change (ie go up) by then, depending on the agreement.

I also have lists of full time adult wages (part time, casuals and juniors are proportionate to full time adult wages) if anyone wants them.

Wages for full time adult staff
(part time 16 and 17 year olds wages are like 50% to 70% of the full time weekly wage divided by the number of full time hours (eg 38). Casual 16 and 17 wages are 120% of the equivalent part time wage. All this depends on the individual workplace agreement.

BBC Hardware/Hardware house $537.49
Betts and Betts $497.00
Big W $531.90
Bunnings $532.57
Coles and Bi lo $540.20
David Jones $503.00
Dominos $497.49
Franklins No frills/Fresh $516.70
Freedom Furniture $570.90
Grace Bros (october 2002) $511.00
Just Jeans,Jacqui E and Jay Jays $510.80
kmart $514.40
Noni B $535.00
Norco $531.21
Officeworks (October 2002) $574.90
Target, Baby target $513.00
Woolies $506.23

NB these aren't really indicative of what you'll get paid because different companies make their full time staf work a different number of hours, different age groups give different proportions of full time adult wages to juniors and all these wages are current for now, that is they might change in a few months time. Different companies get different pay rises at different times of the year, woolies is set to get pay rises 1st jan.

hehe. That would be fun to be one of those people in the funny hats that chase after the balls at the tennis. Every year they crack me up :D

I'm going to be working a GBs these hols, but I also work every Saturday night at Civic Video and I also have a baby sitting job that's pretty regular.

I have to recommend working in a video store, especially one as casual and slow as the one I work at. I can study, I can watch movies, bum around and get paid. shweeeeeeet!!

checkouts are shithouse. don't bother unless you want to be abused by customers who can't buy dairy farmers milk at woolies and think their right to choice has been taken away , and abused by bitchy supervisors who think they're miss woolworths. 18 year old casuals get about $10 an hour including casual loading. if you're part time you get about $9 an hour but you get sick pay and holiday pay. i want money so i'm casual lol.

ideas? it's good to work, doing christmas casual is better than nothing, even if it ends after christmas. you can maybe do catalogue runs on the side.
