amazing song, yes. though "rhubarb" (disc 1, track 3 from selected ambient works vol. 2) is just a little bit better.

top ten afx songs:

1. rhubarb
2. alberto balsalm
3. xtal
4. windowlicker
5. fingerbib
6. girl/boy song
7. 4
8. icct hedral
9. next heap with
10. flim

i think nearly all his albums save for saw v.2 are inconsistent, but he's still one of the few artists who's one of my faves simply on the strength of a handful of songs.

I just got Selected Ambient Works Vol. II - it's nice, but it doesn't really go anywhere.

I do like the Come To Daddy EP though, and Donkey Rhubarb and On are probably my favourite songs by him (haven't listened to much of his stuff though, only Druqks and this best of I bought blindly).

give it a few listens. i felt the same way when i first heard it, but i grew more appreciative of the structure of the tracks (and often their lack thereof).

you can't deny the gorgeousity of "rhubarb".
