If you liked C22 you'll most probably love Douglas Adams' Hitchikers' series.
Quite similar style of writing/absurd humour.

I read it for EE1 prelims too. There were only three kids in the class, and only I read any of the set texts, so our teacher gave me a copy of C22 and 'The Loved One' and let me choose. C22 won hands down.
It's constant time shifting can be difficult to get used to, but I found that it was worth it for the eventual payoff. Gruesome, but excellently written.

We did catch 22 in yr 10.... I really liked it, it's a very witty book... it took a while to get in to it though, but in the end I enjoyed reading it.

one of my fav books of all time
read it in yr10 which was an amazing feat considering before that we were reading books not even half the size of catch22

It took me a lot of ritalin to get through it all.

It's rare that I actually laugh out loud reading a book. I recommend it (and ritalin, too)

Ahhh...I love it. Seriously, how can one man be so right about everything? And so funny at the same time? Wow.

so did we, year 11 advanced.
i didn't like it only cos it was too long and unstructured. I like order.
But it was funny in parts, though i found a lot of it boring.

One of the best books I've read. It mocks absolutely everything that can be mocked in America, so that's a thumbs up. The structure was rather annoying though. The end section is incredibly depressing, with lots of horrible things happening to ordinary people. Plus, you really want to reach in and punch the Colonel in the face.

I love Catch 22. It gets funnier every time I read it. As a firm believer in hating chickenshit officers and rules, it epitomizes the Army for me. Has anyone seen the movie, it isn't bad, but doesn't have enough to do with the book. It encapsulates the themes of the novel pretty well though. Unfortunately Yossarian is much unlike the large swarthy Assyrian he should be.

My favorite character is Dunbar… Or Orr.
