What do you think of their new album "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" compared to their older stuff?

They are a band that have complete contempt for music. Like they just rape and murder it constantly. Suffocating music and penetrating the mutilated corpse. Repeatedly. It's awful.

4 years ago, they were a top 'underground' hardcore/metal band with great music.
now they are every myspace addicted 12 year olds favourite band.

although i do like some of there pre-the curse music.

there previous albums with the screaming was tops, his barking scream is the sound of atreyu.
now they are just more of a punk singing sound.....i think they have lost the edge, it's good music. but it's not the atreyu sound. i think this album is a real miss an hope that IF they release another one it's back to the old heavy screaming an metal riffs

I heard one song off the newest album and didnt bother hearing any others cause it was so shit. I like a fair few of their older songs

It's funny how teenyboppers misconceive bands like Atreyu as the forefathers of Hardcore. I hate that shit >_<

then again i cant really talk i remember when i was an uneducated dork and i thought refused were the pioneers. sure they basically fathered post hardcore... but hardcore? maybe not
try black flag, sick of it all etc etc

i'm starting to really get into the heavy metal/hardcore riffs.
soundwave will be epic tho cause alot of bands that are sick as goin
