i think the past two australian idols are about reversed stereotypes of looks of singers.
We have Guy, someone who looks hip-hoppish singing a smooth, calm love-song- 'angels brought me here'

Shannon noll- 'an older, married, country boy' singing songs loved by (almost) all

Casey- a 'big girl with attitude' though most pop singers are skinny

Anthony- a shorter guy
