What are the time zones that are being ignored then? It threw me, because local time kind of implies that you're taking time zones into account, but I can't work out what it meant otherwise.
Like, for example, say Place A has the co-ordinate 150 degrees E and Place B has the co-ordinate 155 degrees E. In mathematical terms, Place A is GMT + 10 and Place B is GMT + 10.3. Therefore, there is a difference in their times.

However, if you take into account time zones, it is likely that because tehy are so close together, they would be in the same time zone and therefore have the same time. The paper asked us to ignore this possibility.

Yes. I just freaked out because I'd ignored the time zones, and no one else on here seemed to have done so, so I got my copy of the paper. Anyone who added a 5 hour time difference is in fact wrong - it's 7am, not 12pm.

Also, did anyone else find it impossible to prove 28bi? I tried everything I could think of, and couldn't get it to work out, and there are at least 3 other people in my class who had the same problem.
Ignore time zones as in the flight took 9 hours regardless of which time zone it left etc.. You had to convert the time. :santa:

hey thanks for putting up your answers..

28 a) v) (2) isnt girls have a growth spurt, its that the formula is a straight line, and the graph isnt a straight line, so after age 12 if you keep going you get rididulous answers. dont worry, i said the same sort of thing :p

Also for multiple choice 3) we had a question like that in another assessment and kids and teachers fought over whether the answer was 24 (because thats what N actually represents) or whether it was just 4 (because thats what goes in that place) so they had to give us both marks. i cant decide myself, but i put 24.

and for 15) i say he doesnt pay interest on the deposit, so it shouldnt have been added to your answer of $3200.. i believe the answer is A.

thankyou for uploading them though, youre putting my mind at ease..i just wanted to get over 90 lol.

ohhhhh thank you so much for posting up the answers!!
i was really worried when i came out of the exam.. as were the majority of my classmates. but seeing as though im normally near the top of the class i was extra worried...

when i got 1/2 way through the exam i looked at the questions and seriously almost started crying. if not for the noise restriction i think i would've.

but thanks =] from the answers you posted it seems i got at least 80%

let me know if im doing something wrong though, once i get an answer into my head its hard to see other ones, thanks

Ah.. crap. Looknig at those answers is'nt very reassuring - It was pretty hard.
Plus me sneezing every 5 minutes didn't help. Fine before I got it there!

Worst question had to be that one about the cheese. Damn cheese.

Alot of people noticed- there were fewer questions about algebra- as in past exams.

Oh well - time too stress about legal.

the 3.9mL/min is using the whole drink (375mL) as a beginning measurement. The measurement you've used is the alcohol/min measurement.

not sure exactly what they wanted....i did the 3.9mL/min measurement...

You use the annuties formula.

N=M [(1+r)^n-1]
r(1+r)

I think that's right.

Or close to it.

375mL = 1.6 SDs
1SD = 234.375mL
234.375mL / hour
= 3.90625mL / min

It is correct.
