For (i): There are four light globes. They each cost $6 to buy and $d per hour to run. So the cost to run one of them is 6 + d x 5 x 365 = 6 + 1825d. Therefore the cost of running four of them is 4(6 + 1825d) = 24 + 7300d.blackall46 said:yeah for b ii you had to find value of d (the lightbulb one) and you had to answer with $d as one lightbulb. not four.
Yep.haynze said:QUESTION 24
(a) (i) 11.4
(ii) Removing the outlier will decrease the mean but the median will stay the same.
(b) 3.6 sec
(c) (i) €480
(ii) The gradient will decrease
Wouldnt the gradient increase because the australian dollar would buy more euros now e.g it would get closer to the us dollar line
i did 21 but either way if you did 22 and rest on answer was right you will get 3/4tani90 said:QUESTION 26
(c) Total value = 100(1.06)21 + 100[ (1.06)21 – 1 / 0.06] = $4339.23
..... i thought it was suppossed to be to the power of 22, because it was her birth and then 21 birthdays, am i wrong?
for that question, was the answer (4 x weakly wage) + (17.5% x 4 weeks wage)?AlexW23 said:You get paid for the holidays, and you also get 17.5% extra for going on holidays.
Weird I know, but thats how it works.
Wrong mate.. Original cost was $20. GST=10% of original price ie- $2.00Hamil said:Question 6 MC
Answer is actually B.
22.00 / 100 = 0.22
0.22 x 10 = $2.20
It's definately 22, as she gets a payment the day she was born.williams180 said:i did 21 but either way if you did 22 and rest on answer was right you will get 3/4
It is like a fringe benefit.Tom2nv said:But doesnt $1316 sound strange as he is not working yet he is receiving more money in the 4 weeks than if he had been working the 4 weeks
yeh, its just one of the benefits for being employed full timenod089 said:It is like a fringe benefit.
Q5 MC - Cannot be D, as diagram I is the stock standard net for a triangular pyramid.Hamil said:Question 5 MC
Answer is actually D as they ask you for a trinagular pyramid not a trinagular prism.
Question 6 MC
Answer is actually B.
22.00 / 100 = 0.22
0.22 x 10 = $2.20
Question 9 MC
I think the answer is B. A population of 500,000 may only have 10 schools. $1 of petrol may provide you with 0.90L.
Question 23 b) iii)
Isn't the answer 8L?
V=Ah
V=400 x 0.02
V=8L
Question 27 a) iv)
Dimensions are actually Length = 15m Width = 9m hence 15mx9m
Well the amount that it costs is $22, which is 110% of the original price. Timse that by 100, then divide by 110, and you get the original price, which is 20. Then just do 22-20. . You must have done something like 22 * 10 / 100, which would equal 2.2. Hope that helped.Bayley said:this probably sounds really stupid but how did u get A for ques 6 ... i got B
Agreed. Definitely not a good question. The two words which a lot of people may have glossed over in the question are most likely. When I first saw the question I thought it was B as well, but only because I thought they were talking about petrol sales. As the price goes up, the sales will increase as well. The number of litres would probably stay the same or decrease a little so B is probably not a case of positive correlation. In the case of A, just because a population increases doesn't mean the number of schools would increase, but you would expect that it would. So A is more likely to give a positive correlation than B.Der Waffen SS said:Q9 MC - I think this is a very bad question. None of them are necessarily right, as the population of a city means little to how many schools it has - it is the number of children that determines that, so birth rate to schools would be better.
You mean 1 m3 = 1 kL?Der Waffen SS said:23. B. III.
What I did was convert it all to MM, like so:
400 * 100 * 10 (Or 1000, whatever tickles your fancy - just showing you the step).
So 400,000 mm * 20. That equals 8,000,000. Divide it back into the original volume shown, in m. That comes to 8,000. 1m^3 is equal to 1L, so it is 8,000L. Always try and deal in the same unit of measurement, even if it requires bigger numbers than before. You can always put it back in, and you will get the right answer.
Yes. Sorry about that. I was answering the paper and typing in the answers at the same time. I just typed the last answer which was the 9 m width. Fixed that up now. Thanks.Der Waffen SS said:Q27 - Correct. It is 15 by 9. I got that from using the graph then my own astounding mathematical knowledge to minus 6 from 15 :rofl:.
Easiest way to get GST is divide the sale price by 1.1Bayley said:this probably sounds really stupid but how did u get A for ques 6 ... i got B
