The 'riots' (disturbances, I would say, however graphic they may seem) are taking place between state league teams (teams that have not faced each other for some time given the extistence of the NSL), and if you knew anything at all about the new A-League you would not have bothered with such a pathetic post as new teams without ethnic ties (such as those that exist within certain sections of the state leagues) are unlikely to 'encourage' such confrontations, are they?

Football in Australia does have an image problem as a result of past problems, yet there is no need for such a baseless claim to be made.

Some ethnic based riots in obscure state league matches aren't going to effect the mass targeted A-League market.

u took the words straight out of my mouth man, im assumin the game u mean was bonnyrigg white eagles vs sydney united (but as u dont know anythin, u prob wont be able 2 confirm or deny this)

this riot had nothing to do with soccer, white eagles fans = serbian, united = croatian

serbia + croatia = riot, its that simple man, dont kill soccer cause of it

the worst thing is in the illawarra premier league (where i ref) there is a team caleld white eagles and another united (i wont mention names 2 keep some peace)

well these teams were due to play the week after the other riot but they called it off due to fears of repeat rioters, and now its on next week and i have to ref, dayem

but the point is, the fags that rioted werent the fans, the club didnt even know hu they were, they were simply members of the ethnic community that decided 2 hav a soccer game as an excuse for a riot, the a league however doesnt have any teams with any strong racial basis, gone are the days of marconi, apia, or united
