Will we get a sheet telling us places to go on the tour? Or are we just supposed to guess the most important places?

the mentor leaders should have recommended which places to go to when they gave you the tour.. they did give you a tour, right?

They did, but I had to leave early because of work (from the bit I was on, it all seemed pretty easy anyway). For some reason I distinctly remember my mentor last year having a sheet which told us where to go, but she could have typed that up herself.

From the Mentor Leader Handbook
What makes a good tour
* PLAN your route (especially important with current construction)
* Keeping the group togethiner - don't get stragglers!!
* Try and get mentors/students walking in pairs or threes so that they can talk to each other. Model this yourself by walking with a couple of mentors when you go out on the Campus tour.
* Only start talking about the Tour Stop when everyone is gathered and listening - DON'T TALK ON THE RUN!!
* Have a tour route organised so you don't waste time wandering aimlessly

Campus Tour
* PLan your tour so you know what you can fit in. Remember you will need to plan it so you can be at the library at your allocated time.
* Use your 2006 Campus Guide to navifate the tour of academic, general places, and SAM. You should finish on level 2 of SAM for the BBQ and 'Transistion Trivia'.
* At each stop YOU NEED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR GROUP IS TOGETHER BEFORE YOU START TALKING
* Remember to speak loudly and clearly
* Set aside approx. 10 minutes at the end of the tour to sit down and answer questions.
* Ensure that you have collected your mentees' email addresses. Check that the students have printed clearly on their slips, clarifyt any that you cannot read or are unsure about. PUT THEM IN THE ENVELOPE AND DON'T LOSE THEM!
* If your mentees want to get contact details from other students in the group, suggest that they do this at lunch

Hehe, walk in pairs?

Are you going to order them to hold hands too?

Haha!

I will be bringing my spiffy new fairy wand tomorrow (I'm vertically challenged and need SOMETHING with which to attract attention) so let us hope it has magical powers and can make my mentees do whatever I want! :p
