Hi,
I'm thinking of choosing a song as one of the belonging-related texts. How do I go about analyzing a song? There are some musicology stuff to discuss too right? I'm quite familiar with music, but I'm not very sure what aspects the examiners are looking for. How about a change in voice tone, or the certain chords used, or the style of music chosen (in my case, gospel)?

As for the literary aspect of the analysis, do you know what we should discuss? So far, I only know of repetition, personification. Are there any techniques used in the phrase 'world divided'? Can adjectives be one of the techniques, for example, the word 'strange'?

Thanks so much!

Any technique may be used (BUT DON'T USE ADJECTIVES AS A TECHNIQUE) if it relates to belonging. Whatever you know of, use it if you know that it addresses the AoS.
The reason why you shouldn't use adjectives as a separate technique is that we are talking about a Year 12 level English, even if it is for people whose second language is English. Use more sophisticated devices if you are aiming for a higher mark/rank.

Thanks, but how about the music part of it? I know that's very important, but i don't know how to elaborate on the music part of it.
