bro the alignemt for pe is so high for what, why does a 77 got 90. my avergae for pdhpe is around 88 so im so hopefull for a 96 or smt
RIGHTT??? But to be fair, the head of PE told me at the start that it's a lot harder to score well in PE then people think. Really high levels of specificity etc. But fr if we can get even like an 85 in the exam, that'll go crazy for atar contribution

I mean if we can maintain an average of 85 and in trials get 90 odd, have an high rank and then in the hsc score another 85, assuming we get our internal mark we looking good for a 93

It seems like I was misunderstood. When I said moderation precedes alignment, I meant moderation comes before alignment. So yes, your mark after moderation is subject to alignment. However, alignment has no effect on your ATAR because aligned marks are not used in calculating ATARs.
sorry im confused so if aligned mark has no effect on my atar, then what is the point of aligning my mark in the first place and hiding my actual raw mark which is supposedly used to calculate my atar?

Because NESA defines what a band 6 mark is. A band 6 also gives you benefits like extra points for some subjects for some courses.

Just assume they use aligned marks. They use raw marks, but estimating ur atar based on aligned mark is the most accurate as UAC only gives the scaling data based on aligned marks. Generally, scaling for the same aligned mark in one year and another is similar, as NESA has taken care of it when defining the band 6, 5, 4 cutoff marks.
