afin328 or afin 353? (1 Viewer)

i am in yr3 sem 1 now and i need to choose between afin328 and afin353. i heard that afin353 is a theory based subject but i didn't heard much about afin328. Can anyone give some opinion about it?
BTW I would like to ask about afin329 and acst306 as well, I will be taking one of these two next sem. Hard to choose

I'm going to assume that your an actuarial student (based on the fact that your considering ACST306 for sem 2)...

I'd have to say that Afin328 is better than Afin353 if your a practical, hands-on type of student....but if you like reading/analysing, then Afin353 is the way to go.

Also, as an actuarial student, you might want to considering doing ACST306 + ACST307...which apparently gives you an exemption from the acturial professional exams.

no i am a BAppFin student~i need to choose among 3 out of 5 subject.(afin328, afin329. afin352, afin353 and acst306) I would prefer maths rather than reading so afin328 should be my choice. I just found out that I could not meet the prerequisites of acst306 so I must do afin329 then...since this is my last year already...

I am taking afin352 , i dont like afin353 which is based on theory and require a lot of reading . I took afin328 1 week and withdrew because i realized that afin328 is based on econometric mode . i think afin 352 is more helpful to my career. afin328 evaluate risk based on econometric model so if you are interested in econometric you can go with it

i take both afin352 and afin328, i dont seem to find afin328 too based on econometrics imo, if its like econ241 im presuming your talking about. Also, the lecturer said that the afin328 pass is a fairly high rate.
