Let me tell you that I have taught std English as well . I can also tell that three of my standard English students went straight to Sydney uni and are studying medicine. Depending on your subject choice the difference between stdevand adv is minimal. My experience is the majority of std English students who work to capacity are barely , if at all , impacted by doing standard as opposed to Advanced . There is a difference in scaling but my experience is that it basically has no impact on an ATAR if the standard English students works to capacity
I feel like if ur able to perform to a high capacity in std u def will be able to do the same in adv so u may as well just stay in and get scaling benefits. So I feel like for 90% of people staying in adv is better than dropping to std

The reason i'm thinking to stick to advanced is because my "capacity" seems to be very low, no matter what i seem to do i can not seem to bring my marks up. And thus in the end i would rather stay in advanced for a slight benefit than me getting the same bad marks i do rn in std which won't have that slight scaling benefit that everyone seems to be talking about.
if you would like any tips or helps from an English teacher I’m happy to give some hints and advice
