needing advice for doing IT at UTS - laptop selection!

I'm currently a yr 12 student, hoping to get into one of the IT courese at UTS. I'm currently in the market for a laptop, and since this is a fairly big investment for me - I'm wondering what would be more beneficial, an Apple Powerbook or a Windows based machine?
I'm looking at getting an Apple Powerbook to assist me with some of my Yr 12 studies, but there will be no point if im just going to have to get rid of it at the end of the year and swap it for a PC laptop.

Cheers,
James

I know plenty of people in the Faculty who use powerbooks. As far as I know both platforms are supported by the wireless network. So yeah if your leaning to a powerbook it will have no problems with compatabiltiy at UTS

thanks for that advice! I was just not sure if alot of the work you do would be better suited to a windows laptop, but if others have them, i guess not!
if anyone else has comments they will be appreciated!

Up to you. Whatever you like. I like my Asus 12" laptop.
