FSP is 13 days in Tamworth - 12 days flying, the last day is the OSB.

As for keeping the missile lock - no more than about 1-2 seconds. It's really hard, since the control sensitivity changes, from extremely non-sensitive, so you push the joystick really hard to make it move a bit, then it suddenly changes to super sensitive and the circle flies across the screen.

I think it also measures the average distance from the thing you need to lock on to, and there's probably a minimum requirement for that, since not many people can hold the missile lock for very long.
sounds intense, but exciting, cant wait to do it, guess they cant judge u soley on 1 coordination thing.

anyway thanks for ur help, good luck in ur final exams

You can do any degree at ADFA and become a pilot.

From the ADF site:

The following details Air Force requirements by Specialisation:

* Aeronautical Engineer: BE(Aero or Mech);
* Electronics Engineer: BE (Elec);
* Armament Engineer: BE (Mech, Aero, Elec);
* Airfield Engineer: BE (Civil, Mech);
* Pilot: BSc, BA, BTech(Aero), BTech(Avn), BBus;
* Logistics Officer: BBus, BA(Econ);
* Administration Officer: BBus, BA(Econ);
* Intelligence Offficer: BA, BSc, BTech(Aero);
* Air Combat Officer: BA, BSc, BTech(Aero), BBus; and
* Air Traffic Control: BA, BSc, BBus.

Well, not really. BA yes, because it's not really all too relevant, but a BSc is still relevant to the physics and whatnot of being a pilot.

I think a BA or a BSc would open more career paths after leaving the Air Force though, compared to a BTech specalizing in Aviation.

I like to think ahead :D

Yeah, B.Tech is very advanced. Either way though, I don't care - you become a pilot either way.

even if u do a barts and become a pilot ui still become a pilot out of it, so when u leave your job isn't going to be based on ur degree, your more likely to become a pilot than journalism (if u do arts),
be careful tho, coz arts is alot of essay writing and critical thinking, if u struggle with that, then a bsci may be an better degree for u.
BUt if u do a btech aviation, id emagine it'd help u to specialise in becomming a pilot (if u soley want to be a pilot which sounds like what u want to be Stallion) while doing another degree would give u broader education and knowledge if u ever want to step out of aviation once u leave the RAAF, however i'd imagine that they're more likely to promote u initially if u have a btech solely on the fact that u have that education background, later on i guess it would depend on how u perform.

well the applications have closed and i visited the adf website and it says this
Registrations for Gap Year 2010 are closed from 3 September 2009. Candidates will be short listed at the end of the application period. You will be advised by October if you have been short listed or unsuccessful.

i got a email like 3 or 4 weeks ago saying that short listing will occur by 15 of sep? does this mean from sep15-oct1 ill get all my you session and assments done in the space of like 2 weeks?

thanks

Patience and persistance.

If they select you then you should get an email by the 15th. If you don't hear from them by then, ring them up and ask if you did/ didn't get shortlisted.

yeah i would have to agree, Perth dont seem that quick with it, but then i heard somewhere that there were over 10,000 applicants this year- not sure if thats true.. i had my YOU session about a month ago and still havent got the assesment day cept that was mostly my fault for not sending the documentation in straight away, anyway they rang today to say my second prefence was no longer advaliable but my first was still so i think its still going forward, if slowly...
