Hi guys, can anyone explain to me what do accelerated courses mean? My friend is doing ipt in yr 10, and he was saying that he will do his hsc for ipt in yr 11.. ive been confused ever since..

So accelerated courses are when you do a subject in a faster pace or start a year in advance. So your friend doing yr 11 ipt at the moment and will commence the yr 12 course next year. Essentially, you complete subjects a year/s before the normal student.

So basically he is completing one HSC Course (which comprises of both Yr11 and Yr12) a year ahead than he would normally be, hence 'accelerating' his studies. Think of it as starting a HSC subject in Yr10 (instead of Yr11) and by the time he finishes the course, he would have just finished Yr11 (and just started Yr12).
