I wont go into too much detail.

But one of my teachers lost the entire class's projects. She now has to remember what they looked like to mark them (including those that didnt hand it in).

Everyone has passed, and one student who didnt attempt the assignment gets 75/100.

I received 100% for the task...But I dont know if it was due to my ability or because I showed obvious signs of hostility when she said she lost them...

This really cant be legal...what is the normal course of action in this scenario.

That is ridiculous...

Contact the head teacher or principle asap.

EDIT:

I missed the part were you said you got 100%, just sscchhh man you have no reason to complain. Other people on the otherhand who got less then 90 should rip your teacher apart.

Because it's totally unfair, unethical, unprofessional and probably biased as the teacher is going by some baseless memory bs which is most likely influenced by their opinion of students rather than any sort of work they may/may not have put in for this task.

Yes year 12. She's a horrible teacher...

I feel really obliged to tell someone (even if it means a lower mark)...however, I am hesitant because as shitty as she is, she's really nice to me.

Also, sadly, even though this is probably the most illegal thing she's done...its not the most disappointing :/ I'm sitting on around 95% with only weeks until the HSC but its the one subject I really dont want to do because of how fucked up she's making it.

i no but OP got a 100% from this. i mean why should he report this teacher and go through all the legal drama when hes already benefitted from this set of events.

yeh but gaps between students when ranked could mean that OP as well as others are getting screwed over

like if she gave a bunch of people 90+ when they might not deserve that, maybe OP (or someone else) should be further ahead in terms of gap

Some people are being fucked over, however I am not...I received the highest mark and am currently ranked 1st (by a lot)...However, I dont deserve my ranking or mark.

Just wondering, assuming that I did report the teacher, what consequences would she face?

I personally wouldn't be complaining if I got 100%. In fact I wish my lecturers would lose my work and give me 100%.

I'm sure there would be some consequences though as that is pretty poor on your teachers part.

Don't know tbh, it most likely would depend on how the principal handles it (at least that's what I'd expect), though it could well go beyond that.

I would be really pissed off (Unless I got 100%, but still it is only ethical and fair) and would call the BOS

Maybe wait till after the HSC, and then report her to the principal/BOS after so younger years won't have to endure her.

Don't complain.
You're in year 12 and you got 100%.
Honestly do everything you can to beat others in your class.
It was your teacher's fault not your own so if you don't report it you shouldn't feel guilty.
If someone else complains then don't argue against it or anything though.
