How do you find the horizontal asymptote of y= x/x+2

As x approaches infinite, y approaches 1
As x approaches negative infinite y approaches -1
So y = 1 and y = -1 are the horizontal asymptote.

It doesn't approach -1, it only approaches y = 1.

y = x/x+2
Divide all terms by x,

y = 1/1+(2/x)

Sub in negative infinity:

y = 1

So it's just at y = 1
