was xerxes actually a 8 foot over-blingblinged shemale in real life? i think not. historically accurate, no. awesome cinematography and fight scenes, yes. good entertainment.

it was an okay way to fill an afternoon. saw it on dvd, though, which probably made it a little less impressive.

Cry me a river, if your going to complain about the "direction the film industry is taking" then go out there and change it yourself, make some independent films. If not, don't complain about it.

And no one should knock a movie before they even see it..

Oh, depends.

I still put my money on that Herbie Fully Loaded was going to be terrible.

Well... the halfway decent movies then. And yes that was terrible.

how do you know i am not doing anything to rectify what i see as a dire situation? it might be of interest to you to know that i do in fact have several ideas waiting in the wings. however, i am but a young person, and you cannot expect that i'd have done anything magnificent yet!

i see it as being indicative of the fact that many films these days tend to focus more on showcasing a digitally-created spectacle than on what i see to be major parts of good film-making, ie: engaging plots, characters and scripts. that's merely my stance, of course, and i do realise that a huge number of people must be overjoyed by the rate at which these films are being produced, otherwise they wouldn't be so popular!

Yes, they cater more to the male audience(who like myself come out wanting to get a red cape and a spear).

It catered to them so much that it was slightly homoerotic :)

As they said "The athenians, those boylovers"- Nothing wrong like a bit of macho-ism, and friendly ass slapping :p
