@NotBamboo I still don't understand 💀 😥
Idk everything much abt derivatives yet and all the first and second stuff and I don't know what's a local maximum is (do you mean like the turning point)

Also it's only like chapter 3 right you wouldn't really be using that yet right

wait oopsies
second derivative is in 12 adv
intro to calculus should already be taught in 11 adv right?
like derivatives and stuff
critical point local max local min -> just think of them as turning points they basically are

Shouldn't have covered it yet
Ik all the tutoring kids have already done it bc they've been talking about it + doing some of their tutoring hw (am not part of the math tutoring gang - though I should probably get tutoring some time soon 💀)
Yeah I lowkey need math tutoring to but idk where to go cause I don’t want to go to a place that teaches a term ahead cause then I’ll have to catch up

Do u go to a selective school or smth
Probably does
Learning a term ahead actually kinda helps bc then when you revisit in school you already have some understanding and it can be easier for you to relearn + apply concepts
Problem for me is the main tutoring near me is wayyy too pricey
Not sure about the smaller ones, and also matrix isn't that good for math apparently

So real I accelerated in year 8 (doing yr 9 math). And once I moved schools, they didn't let me do accel 😢..but I topped my class in yr 9 math!!!
Funny thing is I've never learned any of year 8 math lol

I remember in my old school I was placed on 5.3 math but then when I moved for some reason they put me in 5.2 in year 9 so I had to make my way up there. So I did good in year 9 and I got put in 5.2/5.3 in year 10 and then eventually they let the people who were gonna do advanced in yr 11 move to the 5.3 class on like term 3. So it was a long journey and I remember having to catch up on a lot of stuff in year 10

Damn, yeah a lot of schools don't let you accelerate if you move there, but my one surprisingly does and even did it last term. So to move you either have to have a. Done well in some test in year 8 or b. Ace the class-decider-thing test ( I don't think they'll take any more since we've already covered quite a bit of content) - they actually took someone in this year (but she did really well on MX1 so I can agree on that one)
Also out of all the people who moved up only one wasn't like a 'new' student (so they all came in year 8 and went to mainstream before moving up)

😭 that's so confusing
But yeah there's a decent amount of revision for most topics in year 11 aside from angle and shape stuff

And what’s even more confusing is that in term 3 the people that picked adv had to be pulled out of our 5.2/3 class occasionally and they got this other teacher to teach us some of the 5.3 stuff that wasn’t covered in our class and then we also had to join one of the 5.3 classes to learn surds. But most of the 5.3 stuff was still covered in the 5.2/3 class. It was only until term 4 where we officially joined the 5.3 class. Like they should have moved us earlier. So i basically had 4 different teachers teaching me different topics last year
