people that dropped subjects, how did you decide how to do so? I'm struggling with 13 units but feel I can't drop any of them due to how I've done in them/how I enjoy them.
I knew from day 1 I was dropping business
Dropp9ng physics was so hard for me, but I had to think abt my performance + how much effort i qas willing to put into it... and that made me think to drop.
Think about what subjects aren't prerequisites for ur course (if u have one in mind)

I know this sounds stupid but I wish I could do more subjects (except english of course). I feel I could improve in all of them but its just really difficult to choose. I might drop hist ext if my current idea for the major work doesn't work out. still leaves technically 14 units of assessments with 12 counting to hsc

edit- e.g. physics, modern history, geography with phys in particular being one I wished I did
well since adv math doesn't count u can just bludge it ngl

u with business was exactly liek me with sac until I realised I was good at it lol. Keeping it was the best decision ever. (idk maybe if u kept business u could've excelled in it hehe) and physics for u was like bio for me

Well, I did get recommended advanced 💀
my maths falloff was real, I got trophies for competition maths like top 2% etc and topped my year in early junior then had a lot of extra curricular and laziness/procrastination (Aspergers/ADHD (?)) so didnt do all that much in those years, I'm only just getting my marks back up.I actually failed the ext1 prelim but since I really enjoyed the subject i decidedto give it another go

thats good though late year 10 is where a lot of people start to struggle
you got this!
honestly year 7 and 8 I really sucked at math but I only started getting better in year 9 and 10 and now im flopping again. I think my year 11 adv teacher really tripped me up and it was just a flow on effect

Istg even if I lock in for ext maths my atar is getting spanked by english. scared I failed my most recent task because I panicked low on time and wrote the first garbage that went into the brain. English should not be mandatory. nearly everyone would drop it though ha

I haven't got all marks back for all subjects but as of most recent stuff
Biology 2/79
Chemistry 3/59
Ancient History 3/22 (should be higher I think but this is 1 assessment)
Maths Advanced ~20-30/95 not released (yes we have to do all adv and ex2 until hsc)
Maths Ex1 17/39 1 assessment results
Maths Ex2 13/18 1 assessment 1 assessment results
Extension History 5/7 (but with 90% and a very strong cohort)
wow i did the exact same subjects except no ext 2 maths. first time im seeing someone with a list as similar as mine

it was simple for me. i dropped hms because i hated it, i hated the content, the teacher, the class, the textbook, the whole thing. i basically dreaded coming to that class 9/10 times. and i’m glad i dropped it because every time i walk pass that class everyone looks dead inside

Yeah lowkey I lost a couple of really really good teachers last year and have some not so good ones, they say the teacher shouldn't determine what subjects you do but it makes such an enormous difference if you aren't getting tutoring.
Speaking of which, I might need to do for maths unfortunately as everyone else has it

same my math department lost a lot of good teachers and we unfortunately replaced them with people who aren't of the same aptitude, even our science department is pretty bad ngl. The only good faculty my school has is english and legal studies, out of which I am forced to do one and I don't do the other. Doesn't help the fact unis are letting 50 ATAR individuals become teachers by sponsoring them, next gen is SO cooked, tutoring actually might become like a necessity at this rate which is so sad 😭
