Guys i need some genuine advice- I have motivation to study for every single subject... EXCEPT FOR ENGLISH GAH and i need to work hard for English cause i need good marks to stay in the class i'm in (and to get a good rank)! but i just don't like the subject so studying for it is so harddddddd and i need to just find a way to power through procrastination and 'lock in'. Any advice? 😭
One practice essay a week is not much at all, but it will help you a lot. 10 practice essays in a term:)! 2 a week as you get closer to exams, and 2 during the holidays. Good luck❤

what topics should the practice essays be about?
Honestly? Anything. It's just about building your general skills. Make sure you ask your English teacher to mark them too. They'll be really happy if you put in the effort of writing an essay a week, even if it's timed, it's a lot more than most people do.

Look at prelim and other year 11 questions, I think HAST ones could work too, not sure...

My English teacher literally said that if we do any practice questions at home that she won’t mark them because she doesn’t believe that we used a timer properly or that we used ChatGPT which is disappointing 😭😭😭

Huh! That's a horrid teacher. Ask some other teacher to mark it for you, or post it here. There are tons of teachers/tutors that'd be willing, I'm sure.

I'm sure u can hand in practice questions because if u are willing to hand in extra responses when ur teacher didn't tell u to then that means that u actually want feedback. And if u actually wanted feedback u obviously wouldn't use ChatGPT because that would defeat the whole purpose of handing it in for feedback as it isn't ur own work

Idk- honestly she is really intimidating and scary- (which she admitted to btw) so i think i might just go to a diff teacher for feedback.
