they're only wild if you hate freedom

do you hate freedom?
No but it seems to go too far..
Selling of all public assets.
Cutting foreign aid
Cutting Medicare
School vouchers.. Wtf?
Effectively outsourcing defence to other countries and thus inhibit our ability to respond to emergencies. Natural or otherwise,

Simply put I don't want to live in a country like the USA.

Make your vote count and vote for either liberals or labor. Given gillard is an absolute idiot, give Abbott his turn. He can't fuck up the country worse than Gillard already has.

I don't know why people say gillard has fucked the country up.

Unemployment rate 5.4%
inflation 2%
rba interest rate 3%
and consistent economic growth

Consistent growth due to the mining industry which she is trying to shut down.

Average yearly growth in GDP for the past 36 years - all industries - 3.2%

Average yearly growth in GDP for the past 36 years - excluding mining - 3.1%

We'd definitely be fucked without it

Edit: I don't think we should wholesale abolish mining, I just hate this notion that its the be all and end all of the Australian economy

36 years... Why don't you look at something recent like the last ten years then come back and talk to me.

Over the past decade , natural resources has supported our economy through events like the GFC and helped us achieve the longest sustained growth on record. Every major economist can back me up on this. Learn your facts before you talk.

Over the past 10 years the growth is the same (3.1%) with or without mining. It contributes less than 10% of GDP and only employs about 2% of the labour force.

As a Uni student studying economics, I can tell you, that you are wrong. Townie had a correct statement.

In no way, has mining been the backbone of the Australian economy.
