Sorry about not being able to help, but I wanted to throw a question out there too. Could someone please post up answers or just a few points on the very last question of the exam? i.e. the satellite one, all sections of q 65. It would be very much appreciated!

Ehh.. No problem, I asked my friend last night on MSN at like 12 and he gave me an answer :D

Here's the Answer

Question 61 (continued)
(c) The scientists carried out a controlled experiment that supported the hypothesis:
Cane toads are attracted to UV light.
Describe a method for a controlled experiment to test this hypothesis.

you need set up a dome with 4 enclosed rooms

one room with uv light

another light by fluorescent lights

another with no light

and the final one with a red coloured light

introduce a large sample 50 to 60 toads into the dome

observe where they stay for a week

feeding them in the centre of the dome due to ethical reasons

and tabulate and graph your observations

done

I just copied and pasted that into a word document :D so same colour etc...

Meh I think thats a perfect answer for it, If anyone can add more please do so :)

Perhaps repeat the experiment for reliability?
Ahh thanks

My teachers told me that you need to write down that you have to repeat an experiment atleast 5 times to get a reliable result otherwise you wont get any marks for the question.

So for that Well Repeat the experiment over 5 weeks with 50-60 New toads each week..

question.
When you're asked to describe the experiment, would you be allowed to set it out in an experimental design kind of way?

Like this:

variables controlled:
variables changed:

risk Assessment

method.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5

?
or like you megre all your ideas in one paragraph?

Same question here, althuogh I'm wondering whether u should have:

-aim
-hypothesis
-method
-results
-conclusion

or could you just merge it all into a series of dot points (as seen above) and get 6/6?

For designing experiements you don't include, results and conclusions.

You just have to state in your method how you will obtain results, what instruments your using and the units
